DISTANs came together to celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD) in the office. Our aim at Dista is to create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workspace! We are committed to breaking biases, stereotypes, and confronting prejudices at the workplace. We said a big no-no to chocolates, flowers, and scented candles this IWD. Instead, the leadership team took a moment to reflect and pledged to increase equity further and make #Dista a place of equal opportunities.
We had a small event in our office that our Senior Vice President, Chinmoy Bhagwat, hosted. He helped us identify conscious and unconscious biases at the workplace and how they can hinder an employee’s opportunity to grow in the organization. Our CEO and Co-Founder, Shishir Gokhale, said a few words on what International Women’s Day means for him and Dista. He announced that our organization would conduct training sessions about crucial topics such as bias in hiring and inclusive leadership to ensure an equitable and inclusive workspace for all. Dista also gave out some fantastic personalized goodies for DISTANs: a laptop bag, water bottle, pen, and t-shirt.
